A lot of people would probably say that giving up a well paid day job for a career as a music producer might not be a very good idea... but we are very glad Ben Blackadder did when he started producing in early 2020 and decided to become a full time music artist. In October of that year, he began studying Audio and Music Technology at Confetti, part of Nottingham Trent University, and just under two years later, he presents his debut single ‘Near’. Near is a beautiful downtempo vocal song with lush instrumentation and features the vocals of Rebecca Armstrong, aka Rea, who also makes her debut with this single. A sumptuous bassline drives the song, coupled with Rea’s sultry vocal, amidst beautiful Rhodes and violin licks, with lots of details in between guiding the listener through this wonderful debut song from Blackadder.
